Labour MP suspended from party after her husband was arrested on suspicion of spying for China

A Labour MP has been stripped of the party whip after her husband was arrested on suspicion of spying for China. Joani Reid, a rising star on Labour’s backbenches, was administratively suspended tonight after an investigation was launched by the party’s governance and legal unit.The East Kilbride & Strathaven MP is now cooperating with Labour officials after saying she did not see anything to suspect her husband had broken the law.
